Omtex was formed in 1969, at a juncture when the trend in India was following global brands for sportswear. Working towards a competitive edge was essential. For Omtex, being competitive was foundational since the vision of establishing Omtex was tied with a passionate endeavour to bring top quality products and novelties.

The aim with which Omtex was formed was to generate stunning and high-quality products that were comfortable and that would contribute towards performance on fitness and sports routines.

Entering the market to bring out products that not only matched the popular brands but also which came at a decent pricing broke the jinx of buying only international brands.

We look up to our folks who have been instrumental in getting us where we are today.

Our Founder:

The founder of Omtex is the Late Mr. Jivanbhai Patel.
At a time when health and fitness wear was not so widely predominant, and consumer behaviour could not be analysed by data as is available today with advanced technology, Late Mr. Jivanbhai Patel ventured into this segment.
Global brands were more popular for sportswear in India in those days. Entering this sector with a view to establishing it as a brand required a true appetite for entrepreneurial energy and spirit. The endeavour was to bring about a home-grown option matching the international brands and to direct it onto a long-term path. There was no way the next generation would not be inspired.
